Artist statement

I would like my work to be viewed as a synthesis of cultural imagery and my personal emotions and memories. The human form is the subject of interest throughout this work.

I currently use oil pigment sticks on prepared Bristol vellum paper. The oil stick, with its brilliant palette, is quite versatile, allowing a range of thin to thick layers of colors.

Within the work, thought and feeling mark the record of its world and a space created for mind and passion to meet. My hope is that the viewer feels this connection as well.
